Huskey Maintains Lead Into Final Round

Huskey Cropped

Keenan Huskey

Staying composed and focused throughout intense moments is what defines greatness. And through three rounds of the 84th SCGA Amateur Championship, Keenan Huskey of Greenville has shown both.

Starting the third round with a six stroke lead, Huskey looked to add another consistent round to head into Sunday. He began on the front nine plodding along with six pars and three birdies, two of which came on holes 8 and 9. The back nine became a story of make par and move on with pars on holes 10 through 12 until an unfortunate bogey on hole 13. Huskey then bounced back with pars on the next three holes along with adding an eagle on hole 17 for the second straight day. He finished with another steady round of four under par 68.

Past SCGA Amateur Champion, Lee Palms will continue to be in the rearview mirror of Huskey heading into the final round. After a 3 under par round of 69, Palms will have to make a surge in the last 18 holes in order to make a dent in Huskey’s six stroke lead.

Another Greenville Country Club Member has made a push in to the top three after a third round 69. Thomas Todd will begin the final round eight strokes behind Huskey and two behind Palms.

The final round of the Amateur Championship will begin on Sunday morning at 8.00 am off of #1 and #10 tees. For pairings, full scores including individual hole by hole scores and other information, you may visit the SCGA Amateur web page at
